    daa has a number of temporary and permanent positions upcoming for experienced and motivated planners to work within a dynamic environment based at Dublin Airport.

    Reporting to the Group Head of Planning, the broad purpose of the role is to support the wider development objectives of both Dublin and Cork Airports through ensuring appropriate policy and development consents for these activities in the area of planning.

    Shortlisting may occur on the basis of information submitted. A panel may be formed of suitable candidates arising from the process



    • 5+ years, relevant experience as a Senior Planner- desirable
    • Accreditation to professional institute- desirable
    • Third level primary qualification in associated field, Third level post-primary qualification in town planning. Or Third level primary qualification in town planning
    • Demonstrable ability to self-manage a portfolio of varied work against tight deadlines.
    • Ability to manage client and design teams to ensure delivery of output to tight deadlines.
    • The ability to push beyond the assignment or the “ask”.
    • A proactive and self-directed attitude towards work.
    • The skills to juggle multiple assignments at once.
    • A clear comfort level in front of clients and on a “stage”.
    • An understanding of the “what”, “when”, “why”, and “how” of complex issues, and an ability to forge a way through to resolution.
    • A developing ability to use data as a tool to support arguments.
    • Respectful but questioning attitude, pushing thinking.
    • Commited to the daa values.


    • To possess and maintain an up-to-date, excellent knowledge of all planning and relevant environmental legislation to ensure accurate advice is provided to clients in order to strategically steer the daa towards the delivery of its goals.
    • To deliver appropriate planning consents for daa.
    • To work closely with design and delivery teams, in addition to Dublin Airport clients and various stakeholders in order to build and maintain stakeholder alignment and support for proposals.
    • To provide strategic advice for safeguarding, and growth and development.
    • To manage planning issues around airport safeguarding and the project delivery plan.
    • To engage with planning bodies as may be required, including through written submissions.
    • To work as part of a team, including through the flexible allocation of work as it arises.
    • Excellent technical knowledge of the Irish statutory planning system and of European Directives as they pertain to the Irish planning system.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and direct professional colleagues and key stakeholders.
    • Excellent standards of delivery.
    • Ability to cultivate solutions for challenging deliverables.
    • Resilience in the face of adversity.
    • High level of report writing skills.
    • Good presentational skills.
