    As part of the Operational Safety team, this role will support the coordination of airside Safety Management System (SMS) and safety assurance activities at Dublin Airport in accordance with the airside SMS manual.


    The Airside Safety Assurance Officer reports to the Airside Safety and Compliance Manager as part of the Operational Safety team. The primary responsibility will be to work with the Airside Safety Compliance Manager and the Airside Safety Assurance Co-Ordinator to continuously improve and develop the airside safety management systems at Dublin airport. This will involve the day to day tracking of occurrence reporting and investigation processes including follow up with 3rd parties. The management reporting of safety occurrence statistics and response to key trends.


    This role will also provide support in the development and drafting of Airside Safety policies, procedures and training as required in collaboration with the relevant airport personnel.


    • Relevant Third level qualification desirable or relevant experience
    • Methodical, analytical and focused approach to work procedures
    • Excellent numerical skills with an IT proficiency particularly Microsoft Excel, Data bases and Microsoft Office
    • Good communication skills both verbal and written
    • Good understanding and some experience of working within regulated environment such as Safety, Security or similar
    • Strong commitment to supporting excellence in the Operational Safety Team
    • Deals effectively with pressure and can adapt to changing solutions

    • Full clean Category B driving licence is essential for this role

    • Airside safety programme delivery and continuous improvement: Supporting the development of all safety management related documentation (including the Aerodrome Manual / ASMS Manual) and communication processes.
    • To work with the airside safety co-ordinator and airside administrator in administering an integrated safety investigation process across the safety functions at Dublin Airport
    • To actively engage with the ground handling and airline community in investigation and root cause analysis of safety occurrence
    • Daily occurrence reporting systems including statutory reporting to drive continuous improvement.
    • Ensure follow up reports are tracked, approved and submitted within appropriate time frames.
    • Consult with 3rd parties including IAA ATC and other daa depts. through the investigation process and follow up on corrective actions as identified
    • Work to instil a lesson learned approach to safety occurrence and assist with cross functional briefings
    • Support the administration the Airport Caution system and develop tracking systems to monitor cautions
    • Support the administration of the traffic monitor systems airside and monthly reporting
    • To compile comprehensive airside accident and incident reports (excel based) monthly and as required and to identify trends.
    • Assist the day to day review of airside operations and safety occurrence trackers
    • Administer occurrence reporting systems (input to database and excel)
    • Assist in scheduling monthly/quarterly and year end statistical reviews
    • Administrating the Airside Safety Committee and ensure that it considers safety issues as they arise
    • Issue monthly safety notices and safety promotion materials
