    We are currently seeking to recruit a buyer to support our Construction and Asset Care Procurement Category Manager based at Dublin Airport. This role will be responsible for the sourcing and end to end procurement of various sourcing activities (ranging from small to medium to large spends) and supporting the development of category strategies across relevant business areas. This is a great opportunity for an individual seeking to further develop their career within a challenging and very commercial procurement environment. This will be offered as a 24 month contract.





    Knowledge, skills and experience:

    • 3 years plus experience in procurement in a buying role
    • Third level qualification in business required and a procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS, IIPMM) preferable.
    • Strong commercial acumen with good data analysis and problem-solving skills essential
    • Public procurement experience desirable but not essential
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power-Point and Word essential
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence key stakeholders
    • Flexible and adaptable with the motivation and resilience to be successful in a challenging, dynamic environment
    • Commitment to daa values



    Key responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement models for key stakeholders to support the business strategic objectives and priorities from a procurement perspective
    • Work with the business to define its 3rd party requirements, challenging the scope, design and technical features to eliminate unnecessary cost
    • Drafting of RFx documents to suppliers
    • Develop effective sourcing strategies to develop multiple sourcing options, increased competitive tension in the market and to establish the optimal product/service designs to achieve business objectives and ensure business, finance and procurement alignment through the Sign-on/Sign-off process
    • Manage suppliers and contracts in-life as required to ensure contract obligations are met and demand drivers are fully understood
    • Manage the tender process to ensure timely, accurate and robust tenders are issued, received, evaluated and concluded to meet the business needs within daa’s procurement governance framework while maintaining accurate sourcing records on the online portal for procurement www.eTenders.gov.ie and the daa sourcing register
    • Negotiation of costs using the appropriate negotiation techniques to maximize savings
    • Preparation, co-ordination and execution of contracts to ensure daa’s terms and conditions are complied with
    • Other ad-hoc duties and projects as required.
