    The position is that of Airfield Site Project Manager for Construction Projects carried out in an Airside environment at Dublin Airport. This role is to perform the duties of a resident engineer for construction projects being carried out in Dublin Airport.


    In addition the position also includes Airside Safety responsibilities and governance as outlined in standard procedures agreed with daa Operations Departments and the Irish Aviation Authority.


    This is an overseeing role requiring an on–site presence during the construction of civil engineering projects and depending on the restrictions imposed by Dublin Airport Operations may involve working non-standard hours.


    You will have experience in supervision of civil engineering projects for at least 5 years and industry experience of at least 10 years. This role will report to the Airfield Construction Manager.


    • Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Ideally Chartered Engineer.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience on civil engineering of which 5 should be supervising major civil construction contracts.
    • Experience in contract management and administration across a number of contract types.
    • Experience in airport construction projects at international airports or in similarly highly regulated environments is preferable.
    • Have detailed experience of fulfilling duties required by the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations, 2013.
    • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent coordination and organisational skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Autocad.
    • Clean driving license is essential as there will be a requirement to drive airside – training will be provided.

    • Monitoring and reporting of the works on a regular basis in terms of quality and progress.
    • Liaison with internal project delivery and project control teams as well as external consultant teams, when relevant, is required.
    • Regular inspection of the works to ensure that they are being carried out in accordance with the contract specification and best industry practice.
    • Supervises tests and records results on site and inspects materials off site as appropriate.
    • Examination and comment on contractor submitted risk assessments and method statements.
    • Monitors, checks and inspects works carried out by the contractor in accordance with the Specification and Quality Plan.
    • To keep a comprehensive site diary and records to monitor progress of the works.
    • Examine in detail and cross check the contract documents in relation to site matters and assists in resolving discrepancies.
    • Management of R.F.I.s, Change Requests and Technical Queries.
    • Liaise with and assist the Engineer/Employer’s Representative as well as project controls team to carry out delegated duties under the contract, manage change process on site and review contractor commercial submissions.
    • Monitors compliance with all Health and Safety and Environmental issues both statutory and contract related including ensuring, on behalf of the Employer, that the duties of the PSCS, PSDP, Designer and Contractor are implemented across the project.
    • Carries out the role of Site Project Manager as defined in the daa Safety Management System and undertakes appropriate training (which will be provided) to satisfy the competencies for this role.
    • Actively promotes a positive safety culture in the team and on site.
    • Establishing and agreeing KPI’s to measure contract performance.
    • Manage snagging and handover of the completed works.
