    An exciting development opportunity has arisen within the newly formed “Operational Excellence – Apron and Airfield” team. Reporting to the Head of Operational Excellence – Apron and Airfield, this role is responsible for defining and driving the highest airside standards and processes to support consistent and reliable Airside Operations by the Operations Delivery Team. This role is also responsible for ensuring the set up and standards are in place for Delivery teams.

    Qualifications

    • Third Level Qualification in a Business or related discipline
    • 5+ years of operational experience or applicable experience in a Standards related role
    • Knowledge of the activities of airside operations highly desirable
    • Can demonstrate good relationship management skills
    • Proven experience and ability to work in a challenging environment and contribute to the safety agenda for the wider operations management team
    • Has the ability to develop clear KPIs and put in place a monitoring regime
    • Proven people management skills and experience to collaborate effectively across business departments
    • Proactive, strategic and innovative approach to management
    • Strong decision-making capability informed and driven by data
    • Demonstrates strong operational & commercial awareness and judgement.
    • Experience and broad knowledge of change management principles, continuous improvement / lean six sigma methodologies and CI operational excellence frameworks
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation & negotiation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders
    • Strong relationship management skills with a range of stakeholders (employee, customer, vendor/contractor)

    Knowledge in the following areas would also be a distinct advantage

    • Airside operations and SMS
    • EASA and aviation legislative basis
    • Understanding of the information flows associated with AIC issue process
    • Basic Training Needs Analysis skills
    • Operational Training design and delivery background, (skills, knowledge and systems based)

    Responsibilities

    • Take overall responsibility to define and implement best international standards and processes for all airside operations (RFFS, Wildlife Mgt, FOD control, lighting, markings …etc.)
    • Define KPIs and establish a governance model for the Delivery team.
    • Working in collaboration with Operations Measurement to measure the outputs, monitor and track standards
    • Implement appropriate operating model to deliver in line with identified standards
    • Liaise closely with the Operations Delivery Team to collaborate on implementing SOPs to deliver a consistent and reliable execution of airside operations
    • Identify and implement improvements to the operation in consultation with the Operations Delivery Team.   Benchmark and implement Continuous improvement projects that enhance the Airside operation
    • Drive a strong safety and efficiency culture throughout the operation
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (HSSE, Planning and Aerodrome Standards) to ensure highest standards are in place for Airside Operations. Management of external Stakeholders (including IAA relationship) and customers (with APOC) in a structured, processed and professional way
    • Takes full ownership to ensure all Operations Notices, Works Notices, Safety Notices, Aerodrome Notices and NOTAMS are promulgated to an agreed process
    • Responsible to lead and ensure the close out of all audit findings (internal & external) against Airside Operations
    • Takes overall responsibility as content owner for the Airport Directions associated with the role
    • Drive the development and use of root cause analysis tools and data modelling to provide actionable insights.
    • Act as an advocate for change and drive process excellence through continually striving for breakthrough improvements around all Apron and Airfield activities
