    The Head of Shared Services within daa (based in Limerick) is a senior role with overall responsibility for directing the operation and ongoing development of daa’s Shared Services operation. Based in Limerick, the Shared Services unit (with 60+ FTEs) has responsibility for the management and continuous improvement of key daa financial and business processes including Revenue and Accounts Receivable, Employee Services, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset Register maintenance, General Ledger management and transactional support around financial month end close and the budgeting and forecasting processes.

    The key objective of this role is to ensure the delivery of timely and quality service to the Business Units within daa and to promote and drive process change, innovation and thought leadership in the organisation through the initiation, management and delivery of continuous improvement projects and ongoing process and policy reviews and enhancements.

     

    Note that this position is based out of Limerick but will require travel to Dublin and Cork.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Min of 5 years’ experience in a Management role preferably within a shared service environment
    • Proven ability to effect business change, continuous improvement, innovation, vision and project delivery working in partnership with business areas;
    • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, influencing and knowledge sharing skills.
    • Experience at a senior level in a financial or operational role;
    • Appropriate professional accountancy or equivalent qualification;
    • The ability to develop strong relationships with group and business unit management and to work to tight time frames and within defined budgets.

    Responsibilities

    Managing key stakeholder relationships,

    • Ensuring proper and effective support to the Business Units and Central Functions across the daa Group measured by KPIs and quality financial reporting, all underpinned by SLAs;
    • Further develop the Shared Services delivery model and work with the business to identify additional activities suitable for migration to Shared Services;
    • Liaising and communicating with Business Unit leadership, as necessary, to develop open, positive and direct relationship;
    • Working with the Business Units to establish scope for transacting business for advantage in a shared services environment or to re-engineer E2E processes looked at through a shared services lens.
    • Promoting best practice and strategic solutions to meet current and future business objectives ensuring Shared Services and the Business Units are set for continued success;
    • Assessing and improving systems capability, other lean initiatives and change projects in conjunction with the business and stakeholders

    • Ensuring the E2E processes being operated in the Shared Services area and across the business are documented, aligned, efficient/effective, measured/reported and are appropriate;
    • Effect core, common and consistent ways of working across Shared Services activities and across relevant E2E processes,
    • Leading operations process improvement / redesign projects and manage change initiatives which will optimise E2E processes thereby improving financials, quality and/or service levels.
    • Implement processes that lead to excellence in customer care and support; deliver a positive customer satisfaction/experience

    • Providing leadership, supervision, support, coaching and motivation to Shared Services employees; inspire supervisors/managers to achieve team potential; drive a culture of continuous improvement and open, cross-department ways of working;
    • Leading, coaching and developing the Shared Services team developing trust, motivation, inspiration and high employee satisfaction while encouraging a performance driven “can-do” culture.
    • Implementing a Shared Services roadmap aligned with company goals that will support and drive positive change in the organisation
    • Driving a service driven culture with a strong customer focus and an attitude of ownership;
    • Promoting and championing a high-performance culture in Shared Services and the business
    • Defining learning, development and training needs for the Shared Services staff (and Business Units, as needed). 

    Data and Reporting

    • Provide quality financial and operational insight in support of the business by ensuring effective deployment of KPIs and quality financial reporting;
    • Ensure strong financial management while providing, interpreting and acting efficiently and effectively on financial and operational information;
    • Collaborating with key stakeholders to determine their data needs and providing them with complete, end-to-end analytics and information for use in business decision making.
