    Role Purpose:

    The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate the management and continuous enhancement of the business continuity management framework, that will support the global business in light of any significant business interruption. You will be responsible for full contingency planning ensuring policies and practices are put in place to avoid such interruptions. You will support implementing disaster recovery plans across the global estate to ensure operational readiness in the event of any incident of such size. This role supports all of ARI’s global businesses and you may be required to travel to the different regions at times during the year dependant on business requirements.

     

    This is a permanent part-time role which requires the successful candidate to work three days per week in the ARI Head Office in Grattan House (Dublin 17). The ideal candidate for this role would have worked in a similar Business Continuity focused role previously but we will also consider candidates with some transferable experience who can demonstrate strong influencing skills, good stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to work on your own initiative and achieve positive results.

    Qualifications

    • 3- 5 years’ experience in business continuity/risk management role would be preferred but not essential
    • Proven Leadership competence, with a record of establishing and maturing business continuity and resiliency programs preferred
    • Self-starter and comfortable working your own initiative
    • Good communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and influence decision-makers
    • Effective prioritisation skills and ability to manage several potentially conflicting stakeholder requirements
    • Expertise in business continuity planning, incident management, simulation testing and training, and disaster recovery development advantageous
    • Ability to deliver technical & management training processes and the development of training materials
    • Comfortable providing mentoring to senior executives, managers and front-line staff when required
    • Strong Business IT Skills (especially in SharePoint and PowerPoint)

    • Strong experience in FMCG or Retail industries preferably
    • Business Continuity Certifications preferably but not essential

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the provision of crisis management and business continuity (BC) response services at the point of any incident, providing expertise and support to crisis management teams.
    • Implement lessons learned from incidents into BC process in ARI locations to enable continuous improvement and refinement of process.
    • Train & mentor crisis management teams in each ARI Location from senior executives to operatives in BC skills & processes, including crisis management support facilitators
    • Continuous development and improvement of BC process documentation to ensure it remains best in class and relevant to the business
    • Continuous enhancement of existing Business Continuity Plans (BCP’s)
    • Development of additional BCP’s to address key risks faced by the business
    • Work with technology teams to ensure optimal technological solution is in place supporting the BC process
    • Create and arrange crisis management exercises, facilitate exercise planning groups, develop exercise documentation and provide feedback
    • Development of appropriate crisis management exercise scenarios designed to challenge the crisis management teams and explore issues relevant to the business
    • Evaluation of business continuity exercises & revision of business continuity plans and process to incorporate lessons learned
    • Engaging with the business to understand what is critical and the potential threats and risks to their resilience and continuity of services
    • Share best practice across the business
    • Provide support, advice and assistance to stakeholders in matters related to implementation of the BC process
    • For new business, identify requirements for BC framework and implement BC process.
    • Maintain an awareness of the risk profile of the countries in which ARI operate
    • Liaise with key risk advisors engaged by ARI to ensure a collaborative approach to crisis management and risk awareness
