Sales Assistants - Tivat (Montenegro Duty Free)

Overview

To maximise sales, provide the highest levels of customer service, be responsible for the security of stock and cash and to ensure that the shops are strongly merchandised.  Ensure all standards are in line with company policy in all of the following areas:

  • Shop
  • Shelf
  • Staff
  • Selling
  • Service

 

This role is based at Tivat airport and shift work is required.

Qualifications

  • Possesses a genuine passion for style, luxury brands
  • Must have 1-3 years’ experience working with customers in hospitality or Retail
  • Second language desirable
  • Demonstrates a genuine desire and commitment to provide extraordinary customer service
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Minimum high school degree is required
  • Fluent in English is an essential requirement for this role
  • High proficiency in Russian Language desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

Driving Sales

  • Approaches and engages customers
  • Link sell, substitute sell, cross sell
  • Highlights Price Promise and Shop & Collect
  • Knowledge of Store sales targets (daily, weekly)
  • Full commitment and participation in all promotional activities, including voucher handouts

 

Cash Handling

  • Full adherence to retail sales transaction and cash handling procedure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in cash and card and handling
  • Accurately records details of purchases or transactions
  • Verifies the accuracy of calculations
  • Verifies signatures are correct
  • Accountability for cash
  • Cash reconciliation at end of shift
  • Scanning of Productivity barcodes at till points

 

Merchandising

  • Stocks out shelves in a neat and effective manner
  • Ensures stock and shelving is clean prior to display
  • Replenishes stock from sub-stores onto the sales floor when needed
  • Knowledge of location of stock and sourcing of same
  • Awareness of the need to maintain required stock levels and ensures effective stock rotation to prevent out of date stock.
  • Knowledge and application of Merchandising Standards within store
  • Maximising On Shelf Availability of products – Ensuring bestsellers are always available on shelf

 

Retail Product Knowledge

  • Seek out and attend Product Knowledge Training
  • Engage with the online learning portal, Knowledge Hub
  • Drives personal learning on products in store
  • Provides feedback to team members and managers regarding product interest (out of stock, customer requests)

 

Customer Service

  • Welcomes and engages all customers with positive body language
  • Provides a professional, attentive and speedy service
  • Provides customers and passengers with retail and airport information as required
  • Reflects the Montenegro Duty Free Policy on grooming and uniform standards
  • Demonstrates a total commitment to addressing customer needs

 

Security of Cash & Stock

  • Strict adherence to all retail cash, stock and customs procedures
  • Pro-active in bringing attention to passenger movements/behaviour and/or shop/stock layout that may lead to stock variances
  • Stocktaking regularly throughout the year

 

Visual Merchandising

  • Adhere to Merchandising Guidelines for each house/supplier
  • Adherence to Shop Cleaning and Housekeeping Programme
  • Accurate pricing of products using Shelf Edge Labels

 

Health and Safety

  • Be alert to hazards in any part of the shop and stores, report the same to the shop supervisors, floor manager or other senior management immediately.
  • Use all equipment in the manner it was designed.
  • Be aware of emergency procedures and be prepared to carry out established procedures in the event of an emergency.
  • Always ensure the safety of customers and colleagues

 

General

  • Behave in a polite and business-like manner while on duty and show the highest regard for all our customers
  • Be pleasant and approachable
  • Meet customer needs through selling merchandise, giving service and promoting Montenegro Duty Free
  • Provide the highest levels of customer service to all customers
  • Acquire a high level of product knowledge to assist customers. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
  • Adhere to company HR, Administration and IT policies
