Overview

Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery and Innovation, this role will be responsible for leading the Strategic Analyst team with the focus on providing strategic insights to enable the delivery of the Dublin Airport future proposition. It will act as an internal consultant for DAP, working as a lead strategic analyst that is responsible for the team in supporting value identification, proactively understanding the needs of the business, and recommending those findings to the wider team around the overall direction it should take to succeed. It will identify improvements in performance and efficiency for Dublin Airport and its customers by providing insight to the business through accurate, timely and relevant analysis and reporting of data.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position with team management.
  • Third level qualification in a field of mathematical/ analytical/ statistical component with relevant business.
  • Knowledge and experience of BI visualisation and reporting tools e.g., TARGIT, Tableau.
  • Experience in predictive modelling and statistical methods such a hypothesis testing.
  • Data management and advanced analytics techniques used in the process of collecting, storing, and retrieving data e.g., SQL, R, Python, SAS.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Analytical mind-set and critical thinking skills with the ability to go beyond what the ask and understand the need.
  • Experience in assessing large data sets to derive insights and actions that delivery benefits/ advantages.
  • Experience working with predictive analytics, analytics tools, business intelligence systems and complex data sets.
  • Experience of working with, managing, and influencing, stakeholder in large, complex organisations.
  • Strong demonstrable communication skills, collaborates effectively across functions and builds strong working relationships.
  • Ability to think strategically and proactively communicate same; understands the general business environment and how it impacts on daa and own area.
  • Ability to manage strict deadlines and timely reporting.
  • Takes the initiative in dealing with issues; Accepts ownership for delivery and accepts accountability for results.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and where relevant develop, the framework and KPIs that enables the Proposition programme to successfully deliver the organisation’s overall vision.
  • Direct, lead and continuously improve the Strategic Analysts function within DAP.
  • Proactively lead and act as an internal consultant to DAP to derive actionable insights and inform our strategic initiatives.
  • In conjunction with the proposition team, identify and develop new business high-value opportunities with a key focus on unlocking value. Support other key functions across DAP re the same.
  • Support wider DAP team in trial analysis or business case development to demonstrate initiative impact/ value and support prioritisation.
  • Ensure the Strategic Analyst team delivers concise and informative reporting to support the DAP function, including collation of monthly DAP review analysis and budgets etc.
  • Ensure performance at Dublin Airport is optimised against best practice through relevant benchmarking.
  • Ensure the timely availability of clear information and performance indicators to support the business.
  • Lead and direct the Strategic Analyst team to successfully deliver the identified work required to achieve the above activities while supporting the individuals in the team to achieving their role potential.
  • Ensure that analytics and reporting is aligned with the priorities outlined by DAP.
  • Ensure the utilisation of appropriate data sources, analytics, and data visualisation tools for each analysis. As well as identifying new data source opportunities and ways to bring sources together.
  • Ensure that report design and analysis include insights or recommendations that will enable targeted action.
  • Work collaboratively across DAP and the wider group including the central analytics team.
  • Ensure that existing reports and analysis are regularly reviewed, updated, and enhanced.
  • Support in the prioritisation of system development and other systems used for BI and data analysis.
  • Comfortable with defining, leading, and operating within a continuous improvement and change environment.
