Labs are looking to hire a Head of Digital Technical Development.

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Head of Digital Technical Development at daa Labs. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills who can leverage technology to create solutions that benefit both our employees and passengers. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the airport's digital future.

 

As the Head of Digital Technical Development for daa Labs, you will work closely with the Head of Digital to develop and execute transformative digital initiatives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses the following:

 

  • Expertise in leading high-performing Web and Mobile development teams
  • Fostering a collaborative and innovative culture, with a focus on building expertise & empowerment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with which you build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to learn and adopt new concepts & technologies quickly and implement them effectively.
  • Guide the team to identify technical requirements, architect solutions and ensure rigorous testing strategies for all software releases.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality (Agile, SCRUM, DevOps).
  • You will research and recommend technology and processes to ensure optimal delivery, system performance and cost effectiveness.
  • Curious mindset and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Champions practices and capability development across the team in areas such as Quality, Automation, DevOps, CI/CD, Design, and Code Reviews
  • Accepts ownership, accountability, and responsibility with a proven track record in delivering effective solutions from concept to implementation.
  • High paced individual with the ability to define and develop the infrastructure and framework to deliver Web and Mobile solutions effectively.

 

Background and expertise:

 

  • A bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
  • Software engineering background, with 10+ years of experience developing enterprise-scale web/cloud-based commercial software products.
  • 7+ year experience building, leading, and developing multi- discipline teams to deliver best in class Mobile Web and Native Hybrid Applications, including Architects, SW engineers, QA engineers, DBAs, Cloud Engineers
  • 10+ years of experience leading complex software development projects through all phases of the software development life cycle using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong experience of back-end and front-end web development technologies
  • Experience in REST API development (ideally NodeJS/NestJS)
  • Strong knowledge of modern cloud architectures and technologies. Experience with Azure is a plus.
  • Expertise in CI/CD, networking, operational resiliency, failover & DR (ideally with Azure)
  • Must have a strong technical foundation including previous career experience in
    • Programming (C++, C#, C)
    • Software Architecture and Design
    • Leading full-stack product development teams
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in working with mixed teams of on shore/offshore engineers.
  • Commited to daa values & leadership standards.

Responsibilities

Build the technical stack:  You will research and recommend technology and processes to ensure optimal delivery, system performance and cost effectiveness.

 

Digital Infrastructure: Build and design the technology in underpinning infrastructure in which our digital innovations can grow and develop.

 

Digital Roadmap and Strategy: In collaboration with Head of Digital. Reshape the way daa approaches digital. Fostering a collaborative and innovative culture, with a focus on building expertise & empowerment.

 

Product Development: Guide the team to identify technical requirements, architect solutions and ensure rigorous testing strategies for all software releases. Apply software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality (Agile, SCRUM, DevOps).

 

Drive Value-adding Solutions: You will research and recommend technology and processes to ensure optimal delivery, system performance and cost effectiveness. Recommend and implement digital solutions that will enhance the airport’s technological ecosystem and drive commercial revenues through multiple channels, IoT, AI, and mobile app.

 

Collaboration: Foster collaboration with various airport departments, stakeholders, and external partners to gather insights, build consensus, and successfully deliver digital solutions.

 

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing development team, ensuring that they have the necessary tools, resources, and support to achieve their goals. Champions practices and capability development across the team in areas such as Quality, Automation, DevOps, CI/CD, Design, and Code Reviews.
